U9 South District 2010
30 boys from 11 clubs attended initial selection for this year’s squad, from which twelve players were selected to represent the South District in the festivals and U9 competition.
All nominated players have been offered the opportunity to undertake training with level 2 coaches Ashley Harvey and Adam Parker, over the summer months and it is encouraging to see so many boys take up the offer. It is always difficult to choose a team and despite suffering the initial disappointment of not being selected for the squad the majority have continued to attend to develop their cricket. All the boys have been fantastic to work with and are a credit to the clubs that they represent.
Thanks go to Ipplepen CC, Shaldon CC and Bovey Tracey CC for allowing us to play at their grounds. Chudleigh CC deserves a special mention as it seems to have become our regular training venue, freely allowing the district to use the facilities. All players and parents have received an excellent welcome and have been well looked after by club members, Brian and Gill Solway who have been there each week to open up and provide refreshments.
