Day One | Day Two

DEVON and Oxfordshire finally bowed to the inevitable this morning (Tuesday) and called off their Minor Counties Championship game at Banbury.

Having spent Sunday and Monday watching the rain fall, and not getting out to bowl a ball in anger, hopes were high of salvaging some sort of game on day three.

Although the rain finally stopped, there was no prospect of the ground drying out before noon, the last possible time the match could start in a truncated, one-day form.

Devon will be hoping for better luck with the weather when they travel to St Just this Sunday to take on Cornwall for the last group game in the Minor Counties KO Trophy.

Devon need to play and win to be sure of a top-two spot in the west pool and a place in the national quarter-finals.
