THURSDAY JULY 17

HOLDERS Chudleigh breezed into their third successive Teignbridge Twenty20 final with a crushing 10-wicket win over Abbotskerswell.

A late start due to the non-arrival of Chudleigh's coloured kit didn't do batting side Abbotskerswell any favours as they found it had to get going.

Danny Full (23) and Mike Smith (21) made the only scores of any note in Abbots' below-par total of 119 for seven.

Chudleigh openers Mark Halse (67no) and Derek Perry (44no) knocked off the runs with three overs to spare.

Waiting for Chudleigh in the final will be Bovey Tracey, who romped home by 77 runs against South Devon.

South Devon seamer Vivek Kulkarni (3-11) had his former Bovey team-mates reeling at 14 for three before Pete Bradley (19) and Andy Kingdon (66) launched a rescue act by putting on 66.

Kingdon, who hit four sixes and the same number of fours, kept going with Arren deYoung, who belted 22 off just eight balls.

When South Devon batted they slumped to 44 for four in reply. With Rizwan Saeed (14) and Kulkarni (16) out by then there was no way back.

Charlie Carter and Ryan Bougard bagged three wickets each as South Devon were bundled out for 75 with three overs to go.

The final is due to take place at Kingskerswell on Wednesday, July 30.

   Bovey Tracey 152-8 (A Kingdon 66, A deYoung 22; V Kulkarni 3-11), South Devon 75 (V Kulkarni 16; R Bougard 3-9, C Carter 3-14, J Mason 2-8). Bovey Tracey bt South Devon by 77 runs.
