The Bovey Tracey team celebrate their cup-final win over Dartington & Totnes

PETE Bradley hit an unbeaten half-century as Bovey Tracey lifted the Aaron Printers Narracott Cup for the first time with a six-wicket win over Dartington & Totnes.

Wednesday night's final at Paignton was only decided with one ball left of Bovey Tracey's 15 eight-ball overs, but the reality was it was never as close as it seems.

Chasing D&T's 119 for eight – Scott Stevenson top scoring on 40 – Bovey were 107 for one in reply before the jitters set in.

Although D&T removed Chris Bradley and Charlie Carter in successive balls, the target of nine to win off the last over was passed with ease.

The Dartington & Totnes innings was underpinned by a stand of 51 in five overs between Stevenson, who only faced 35 balls compiling his quickfire 40, and Johnny Marrion (27).

Bovey bowler Ryan Bougard came in for some stick during the stand as his third and fourth overs cost 22 and 18 runs respectively.

A running catch by Andy Kingdom broke the stand by removing Marrion to give the miserly Chris Bradley (3-16 off four) one of his three wickets.

James Mason (1-20) helped keep it tight and the only other batsman to make much impression for D&T was Ian Bransdon, who hit 24.

Bovey got away to a 23-run start between Peter Bradley and Matt Makepeace, who was dismissed for 13 by Bertus Loots (1-36).

The stand that put Bovey on top was one worth 84 between Peter Bradley and Kingdom (35) which got the target down to 13 to win.

Kingdom fell to Ryan Stevenson, whose one for nine off three overs was the best bowling performance of the night, followed by Chris Bradley five balls later.

Matt Hickey, who nipped out Bradley, claimed Carter first ball and left Ben Ayres to defend the hat-trick ball, which he did.

The calculation was seven to win off five balls which Ayres and Peter Bradley scrambled between them.

Bradley was subsequently named man of the match and received the Ted Dickinson Trophy from Bob Dickinson, who is the nephew of the late Torquay captain, chairman and president.

   Dartington & Totnes 119-8 (S Stevenson 40, J Marrion 27, I Bransdon 24; C Bradley 3-16, R Bougard 3-46), Bovey Tracey 120-4 (P Bradley 53no, A Kingdom 35; M Hickey 2-39). Bovey Tracey bt Dartington & Totnes by 6 wkts.
