Top National Award for CDM Matt Theedom

DEVON'S Cricket Development Manager has received a prestigious Development Award from the ECB. His citation reads-

Cricket -Development

Matt Theedom, Devon.

It has been a busy year for Matt, particularly now with the added dimension of the new cricket centre soon to be opening at the University of Exeter. Through Matt’s efforts and investment from the ECB, he has been able to successfully negotiate with Exeter University to achieve Excellence in terms of the management and usage of the new Centre and how this will benefit the wider cricket community in Devon.

The Devon Cricket Board now sees itself on a road to becoming a strong business entity in its own right. To a large extent this has been made possible by Matt’s approach to Teamwork when working both internally with Devon Cricket Board members and externally with a wide range of Board partners. Matt explores all partnerships to the full extent and his professional approach coupled with his desire to work with DCB to ‘professionalise’ their operations is of huge benefit to cricket in the county in both the short and long term.… increasingly and as part of deliberate Devon CB strategy Matt now works at a very strategic level within the Board Structure. He will shortly become responsible for the management of a CDO, whom the Board propose to appoint in May / June of this year.

Matt also demonstrates teamwork when meeting with and communicating with other CDM team members. He displays a willingness to share best practice to support colleagues around not only his region but across other regions and on a national level

This is a huge and most deserved award for Devon's most conscientious development manager.
