WEEK five of the North Devon Cricket League was a complete washout with no play possible at any of the 17 scheduled matches.

It was so disappointing for the local cricketers and their respective teams given that the weekend was the first full programme of the season and after four weeks of wall-to-wall sunshine to have the entire programme washed away was very frustrating for all.

The First Division's ‘Big Three' of North Molton, North Devon and Sandford all play as do early leaders Bideford in week six. Match of the Day is at Instow where North Devon host Bideford. Champions North Molton look to bounce back at home to early strugglers Ilfracombe and Sandford will be keen to end a run of back-to-back defeats when they host Beaford. The other top flight game is at Newton Tracey where Filleigh are the visitors.

There are four games in Division Two and no doubts about the main game. It's the one at Lynton & Lynmouth where Bradninch are the visitors and both sides go into the game with nothing but wins in their early season starts. Whoever wins this encounter will lead the table on Sunday night.

Victoria Park are also 100 per cent, all be it after two games, one of which was washed out, and they'll look to see off Westleigh. Shobrook Park host Bratton Fleming and Barnstaple & Pilton II entertain Heathcoat.

The early season pace setters in Division Three, Incorrigibles, look for a fourth straight win at home to Holsworthy whilst Tiverton & Bickleigh entertain North Devon II and Hatherleigh Host Bude.

In Division Four there's just the one game, that at Bratton Fleming II where Victoria Park II are the opposition. There are a couple of game sin Division Five, Kelseymen take on Newton Tracey II and Barnstaple & Pilton III travel to Westleigh II and there are also a couple of game in Division Six. Early leaders Halberton receive North Molton II and Ilfracombe II make the trip to Filleigh III.
