The 2006 Season has started with Plymouth Civil Service defeating Cornwood by 7 wickets. Civil Service won the toss and opted to field against a young Cornwood side which only had five under 15s playing. Tight bowling from Yates and Dent saw Cornwood score 18-1 off eight overs. Sam White accelerated the scoring with a brisk 22, everyone else chipped in for Cornwood to score a respectable 91-7 off their twenty overs. In reply PCS got off to a poor start losing Heather Knight after three balls and Mohsin Alam soon after and it was left to Civil's most experienced players Jack Dent and Tom Cross to see them through to victory with a stand of 68 in 10 overs. Cross scoring 42 with 8 fours off 33 balls and Dent 34 with four fours and a six off 42 balls. Richard Simpson was Cornwood's best bowler with a tidy opening spell picking up both openers.

Axminster beat North Devon by 41 runs, Noah Hilliard scored 49 in the Towns 112- 4 with Marshall undefeated on 29. Beighton took 4-8 off three overs and the bowling was then shared around as North Devon scored 71 -9 with Ashmore scoring 18 and extras contributing 32.

Heathcoat traveled to Filleigh and returned home victors by 95 runs. The Tiverton side batted first and thanks to a retired fifty from Shane Evenden reached 156-6 in the twenty overs. In reply the home side were bowled out 61 with P.Randleson taking 3-4 in two overs.

The Heathcoat score was beaten by Plymouth who amassed 188 in their twenty overs from Harberton. Harry Stephenson retired on 51 and then Ben Robins 44* and K.Barlow 50* took the score up to the final total. E.Bucknor 26 offered good resistance but his side were bowled out for 65 with Jake Luffman taking three wickets. Plymstock beat Bovey Tracey by 7 wickets. Bovey were 104-6 after their twenty overs thanks to 41 from L.Wakefield, for Plymsyock T.Passmore took 3-18. PLymstock took their full quota of overs to reach this target, losing 3 wickets with J.Hockin scoring 28 and O.Mulberry undefeated on 42 .

Whimple batted first in their match with Torquay and scored 135 in their twenty overs. Bardot retired on 41 and Pavia one run earler, they were given 27 extras. Torquay took all their overs to pass this total thanks to 43* from Crooks and 35 from Ivey they were also assisted by extras - 32.Bideford were chasing 80 in their match with Hatherleigh and passed their target in fifteen overs. Dennis (21) and Fishleigh (23) led the way for Hatherleigh and Matt Clarke scored an undefeated 30 for Bideford.

In the first round proper Torquay had a walk over as Sidmouth withdrew from the competition. Axminster also progressed as Braunton were unable to raise a side.                                          Home Draw | Next
