DORSET U12s v DEVON U12s

What a superb setting for a cricket match - and what a stunning performance from Jack Thomas.

With the historic Milton Abbey School looking down on the pitch we all settled down for a good day’s cricket – but Jack had other ideas.

He bowled the Dorset opening bat with the first ball of the game and then went on to carry out a one-man demolition job on our hosts.

Jack, making his county debut this season, ended up with an amazing 7-10 haul from 6.4 overs – six clean bowled – four of them perfect yorkers – and one lbw.

Before the game great importance was made on making sure the bowlers used every ball of their spell to their maximum potential. Jack did just that as Dorset were skittled out for just 45. A brilliant piece of fielding from Dominic Bess killed off Dorset at the end.

It took us just 14 overs to knock off the target with runs from Marcus Hoddinott (16) and Seb Ansley (16no).

What more can we say about the result? The batters have responded to all our requests in recent games and now the bowlers have joined the party! Let’s keep it up lads.
