Devon achieved a victory that was as straightforward and comprehensive as the scores would suggest.
Isle of Wight won the toss and chose to field first. Devon scored runs freely throughout with significant contributions from all the top order batsmen. They declared their innings closed at 233-7 with seven of the permitted maximum overs remaining.
IoW had a minimum of 55 overs to score the required runs but never seemed likely to get anywhere near the target. They lost their first wicket without any runs on the board and they were dismissed for just 60 in 25.1 overs.
Credit to the Devon bowlers but in truth they were up against a side some way below the standard normally expected at county level.
