Somerset won the toss and elected to field. Devon batted aggressively from the start and runs came quickly (106-0 in the first 20 overs). Tom Mitcham was bowled immediately after the tea break for 45. Zak Bess (68) and Alex Brown (84) continued to plunder the bowling and Devon were eventually able to declare at 270 for seven.
Despite receiving fiive extra overs Somerset never really looked likely to reach the demanding target despite good knocks from Ellison (46), Tanner (69) and Lintott (38). Devon used nine bowlers in an attempt to take wickets but in the end had to settle for a draw.
