Natwest CricketForce success for Cornwood

Cornwood Cricket Club's Ben Warren took the lead for coordinating the Cricket Force activites at Oak Park on the 4th & 5th April, and without doubt it proved to be a real success story.

The club were well supported by a voluntary team from NatWest bank who worked alongside club members carrying out a variety of annual tasks including painting, pressure washing, weeding and potting up hanging baskets.

The efforts of NatWest as part of their "community involvement" scheme may result in Cornwood receiving a donation of £500.

"We should not forget a special thanks to all of our dedicated club members (colts and seniors) for putting in an appearance and doing their bit to make sure the ground and facilities are in good shape for the forthcoming season. As a result, everything is now looking in tip top condition." wrote Cornwoods Phil Bees on the club website.

Running repairs were also carried out on the Electronic Scoreboard thanks to Keith Woods troubleshooting skills and patience.

Another great result for the club was the kind donation of two new 'foldable' supersize sightscreens by Interserve Defence Ltd. These were erected from flatpack kits during the weekend, with great dedication from many of Cornwoods' members.
