The 2002 winners were Sidmouth who beat Paignton in the final at Seaton. In 2003 last year's finalists were drawn together in the quarter finals and in a tight game Sidmouth won by 13 runs. They batted first and were bowled out in 28.5 overs for 116. Extras topped scored with 39 followed by Paris Pinney (26) and Will Gater (30) Joe Davis took 3-12 for Paignton and Fitton and Brain each took 2 wickets. In reply Paignton fell 13 runs short off 25.4 overs with Joe Davis completing a fine all round performance with 33. Matt Goss took 3-18 with James Toland, Pinney and Gater taking two each. Sidmouth now play Yelverton at home in the semi-final. Yelverton beat Bovey Tracey by 6 wickets. Bovey batted first and posted a good score of 172- 9. Duxet-Pratt was run out for 30, Wakefield top scored with 41. Strong was the most successful Yelverton bowler with 2-23. Yelverton reached their target in the 27th over thanks to an opening partnership of 71 between Will Chapman (29) and Henry Bennett (25). Whilst Yelverton only contributed 28 extras Bovey conceded 59. Braunton gave Plympton a walkover and they will now be away in the semi-final to Heathcoat who beat North Devon by 121 runs. Brendon Parr scored a magnificent 103 whilst Hugh McDowell was run out for 30 and Bevis Bowles-Bray was undefeated for 30. Extras added a further 60 to the final total of 234. Bowles-Bray took 3-6 in 6 overs and LillyD'Cruz 2-7 as N Devon were bowled out for 113. Overton scored 54 and extras contributed 43 for N Devon. Sidmouth were the first side through to the final beating Yelverton by 112 runs. Batting first they scored 198-3 and Yelverton were all out for 86 in 17 overs. In the second semi Heathcoat scored 136-2 in their thirty with Bowles Bray top scoring with an undefeated 58 supported by McDowell's 29. Plympton passed this score in the last over with one wicket in tack. Nathan Bulley (38) and Lewis Gregory (27) the leading batters aided by 35 extras.
