IPPLEPEN have been awarded ECB ClubMark status, which recognises their commitment to providing a safe environment in which to encourage and develop the junior section of the club.

After much hard work by the committee over the closed season, the ClubMark award was presented to club chairman Phil Harvey by DCB Chairman Jim Wood at the recent Natwest Cricket Force event.

“This is a fantastic achievement for Ipplepen,” said Harvey. “For several years our junior section has been the envy of many other local clubs, with teams at every age group from U9 upwards, and a number of players in district and county sides through the age range.

"Being recognised by ClubMark will only serve to enhance our reputation, and certainly gives us a great deal of ambition and optimism for the future of the club.”

The Natwest Cricket Force event was a great success, with more than 30 members and supporters giving their time and energy to paint and revitalise the clubhouse, as well as preparing the ground and facilities for the start of the season.

“This is the first time Ipplepen have been involved in Natwest Cricket Force, and it has been brilliant in providing a focus for everyone in the club to do their bit in getting us ready for the summer,” said Harvey.
