SA Tour 2016 T20 U15s v Academy X1 @ Skukuza
20 / 20 v Lowveld Invitational X1 Match 1

On the first match of the 2016 tour Devon won the toss and decided to bat. Posting 118 for 2 off the allotted 20 overs James Degg was the first wicket to fall being caught at mid off for 11. Deggs opening partner Sam Carpenter chanced his arm and managed to play his naturally aggressive game taking the Lowveld side for a well made 46. James Doble (23) and Abraham Kopparmabil (16) finished the Devon innings both unbeaten at the crease.

In reply the Lowveld sides started brightly with a 60 run opening stand. Some powerful hitting from batsman Parnel of the opposition saw pressure build onto the Devon side. Devon however responded excellently to this with some sensible field placing and accurate bowling slowed the run rate and created scoreboard pressure upon to the opposition. Devon's two most dangerous bowlers being the spin pairing of Sam Carpenter (13 - 5) and U14 Max Hancock (14 - 2) this turned the match into Devon's favour and spurred a collapse of 22 runs for 10 wickets.

Devon completed a 36 run victory in the first match of the SA tour.
