SA Tour 2016 50 Over Match U15s v Northern Suburbs @ Greenpoint Stadium
On the first full day in Cape Town Devon U15's travelled to Green Point CC to play Newlands Cricket High School in sweltering heat.

James Onley-Gregson lost the toss and Devon were inserted. The opening partnership of Degg and Doble showed intensity and urgency from the first ball aiming to set the tone for the rest of the innings.  Degg was the first to go with the score on 11 shortly followed by Doble with them scoring 10 and 6 respectively. Batting at 3 Ben Sapiecha had to play a resolute innings with wickets consistently falling around him, Onley-Gregson provided some support in a 26 ball stay of 13. Sapiecha eventually fell for 29 off 75 balls, leaving Max Hancock and Sam Woodcock to keep the scoreboard ticking. A 10th wicket partnership of 23, the second highest of the innings, meant that Devon closed their innings on a total of 111 all out.

Onley-Gregson and Adams opened the bowling for Devon and kept the runs to a minimum, Onley-Gregson returning figures of 7.2-3-12-2 and Adams of 6-0-15-0. Spin was introduced early on with Hancock and Carpenter bowling in tandem, wickets fell at regular intervals with Carpenter picking up 3 wickets and one each for Hancock and Mejzner. Ngxangane was the thorn in Devon's side, his 39 ball 45 turned the game in Newland's favour. A late fall of Newland's wickets gave the touring side a hope but the lack of runs was the downfall for Devon and Newlands Cricket High School ran out winners by 3 wickets.

The next game is a 2 day game at The Vineyard Oval against Western Province U14's on Monday & Tuesday.
