Chudleigh back on course with win over South Devon

CHUDLEIGH put their mauling by Plymstock behind them to administer a six-wicket defeat on South Devon.

South Devon struggled early on against Faisel Khan (4-31) and found themselves 38 for four with dangerman Neil Hancock out first ball.

Will Heather (2-31) and dad Mark (2-41) were the back-up wicket takers.

Richard Beaumont staved off total collapse by hitting 80 and with chip-ins from Dave Ball (25) and ex-Chudleigh skipper Jon Martin (25) a total of Jon Martin a total of 175 all out was reached.

Chudleigh’s batting was solid rather than spectacular and – helped by 41 extras – did the job admirably.

Mark Solway (47) and Will Heather (37) made a dent in the target, then Shaun Newland (37no) wrapped it all up with six overs to go.
