South Wilts next for Exeter in NatWest Championship

Exeter under-15s are though to the last 16 of the NatWest National Club Championship following a comfortable nine-wicket win over Redruth at the County Ground.

Waiting in the regional final at Millfield are Salisbury side South Wilts CC.

Redruth won the toss and opted to bat first in the meeting between the Devon champions and their Cornish counterparts.

Redruth recovered well after losing a wicket in the third over to reach a promising 70 for 1 off 12 overs.

Robert Dunn came into the attack and put the brakes on by dismissing Piran Kent for 27 after a partnership of 79 with Lewis Goldsworthy.

Goldsworthy was then caught by Dunn at mid-off for 46 off 39 balls.

Dunn produced a tight spell of bowling with three for nine off four overs that saw Redruth collapse from 83 for one to 100 for nine in their 20 overs.

Dunn was well supported by James Bovey (2-29), Tom Lammonby (1-14), Ben Abrahams (1-29) and Ben Hayes (0-18).

Jamie Khan scored the first 13 runs for Exeter before being caught behind.

Lammonby joined Bovey at the crease and a 77-run second-wicket partnership took control of the game.

Lammonby (left) took centre stage with seven fours in 42 balls in his 50 before retiring.

Bovey played the anchor role with 22 not out.

Mikey Cooper sealed the victory by hitting his second ball for six to win the game with more than three overs to spare.
