Babbacombe and Abbots to meet in SDL cup final on Sunday

MIKE Pugh and Seb Loram  shared an unbroken 154-run stand as Babbacombe trounced Lustleigh by eight wickets to reach the final of the South Devon League Cup.

Lustleigh were all out for 200 in the semi-final – Cameron Fryer taking four for 20 and Stevie Cocker three for 13.

Key stands for Lustleigh were 77 for the fourth wicket between Shaun Wright (45) and Duncan Manners-Chapman (64), who hung around to add 37 more with Simon Bannister for the seventh.

Loram made 86 not out and Pugh an unbeaten 63 as Babbacombe cruised into the final.

Waiting for Babbacombe are Abbotskerswell, who routed Ashburton by 175 in the other semi-final.

Alex Burt (60) and Connor Adams (90no) posted 123 for the sixth wicket in Abbots’ tally of 288 for seven. Tom Andrews made 37.

There were three wickets each for Matt Beasant and Toby Codd, and two for Elliot Adams, as Ashburton were skittled for 113.

The final will take place this Sunday at Abbotskerswell with a scheduled start of 1pm.
