Tavistock live up to reputation as Lewdown's bogey side

TAVISTOCK lived up to their repuation as Lewdown’s bogey side by handing out a 207-run hiding in the derby date at the Ring.

Tavvy rattled along to 279 for three in 50 overs – Dave Manning, Jay Stevens and Shaun Daymond all making 50 or more.

Lewdowb were all out for 72 in reply – Jamie Stephens and Shaun Cleave taking three wickets each.

Tavistock have now won their last three meetings with Lewdown, a habit skipper Daymond is happy to keep.

“I don’t know what it is about Lewdown, but we do seem to have something over them,” said Daymond.

“It is a game we turn up for every time – long may that continue.”

Manning top scored with 86 not out, putting on 100 for the second wicket wth Daymond (69).

Dave Ball missed out for Tavvy on his debut against his former club but Stevens cashed in with 72.

There was a wicket each for Ben Williams, Mark Jordan and Billy Searle.

Lewdown’s batting was a catalogue of disaster from start to finish.

Harry Geering made 12, which was second best to 17 extras.

Stephens (3-15) and Cleave (3-21) did most of the bowling damage, backed up by Steven (2-13) and James McGahey (2-32).
