Groundsmanship Workshop
The Devon Cricket Groundsman’s Association concluded their summer 2015 programme with a workshop hosted by Abbotskerswell Cricket Club on Sunday 20th September. The programme covered the renovation and maintenance of cricket squares at the end of the season.
The programme for the day was led by Charlie Woolnough, Pitch Advisor and chairman of the Devon Cricket Groundsman’s Association. Rob Donnelly, Regional Manager for the Institute of Groundsmanship called in to make a presentation on the latest developments in sports ground preparation to delegates.
The day was excellently supported by Devon Garden Machinery who brought with them a wide range of machinery for work on cricket grounds and other fine turf areas. The Association are grateful to Abbotskerswell Cricket Club for hosting the workshop and keeping delegates refreshed throughout the day.
Over the course of the winter the Devon Cricket Groundsman’s Association are planning to expand its operation to provide a higher level of support to cricket clubs in Devon.
