Blundells School, April 21st 2013
After a lovely sunny day in Devon on Saturday the 20th , the weather esorted back to normal and we played at Blundells under a grey sky which turned into an on and off light drizzle through the afternoon. Not very pleasant but not enough to hold up proceedings.
East won the toss and elected to Bat .
A century opening partnership between Lockwood [95] and Shepherd[40] got East off to a strong start with a good contribution of 48 from wicket keeper Phillips which paved the way for a total of 242 for 5 off of the 50 overs, but did see a couple of unnecessary run outs to some good fielding from North .
After Tea North came into bat but were soon dismissed by Cabburn [3 for 6] and Keenan [6 for 7] with Mortiboys also taking a wicket on his maiden District outing.
