Match Report East Devon vs. North Devon
Shobrooke Park Cricket Club, April 28th 2013

East won the toss and elected to bat on a good Shobrooke wicket and got off to a useful start with Charles Fitzroy putting away some short early bowling.  Dan Pyle and Josh Cann put on a very large stand with Dan Pyle retired on 104 with three sixes and 11 fours and that brought Ben Green to the crease who continued to pile on the runs.  Both fell to shots of imprivisation as the innings neared the end and later batsmen were able to come in and show off their shot making.  East finished on a punishing 354 for 5 off their 50 overs with North using 9 bowlers.

North's innings started badly with a wicket in second over but Tom Gidney hit a few round the park until hitting one too many and perished to a fine caught and bowled by Felix Northover.  It was nearly over for the North with only Callum Mitchell offering some clean hitting with a brisk 30 and the last six batsmen fell for 1 run.  The East bowlers did well with James Gosling getting 2 for 5 and Jake Reddick getting a last over with 2 for 1 run.

Match Report East Devon vs. South Devon
Bradninch Cricket Club, May 5th 2013

East won the toss and chose to bat on what turned out to be a sporting wicket.  South started well to a sharp spell from Brad Causey and Tom Blundell but two wickets in two overs from Tom Blundell started a slow progression to an under par score.  8 East players got into double figures but none going on.  Tidy figures of 4 for 18 from Toby Codd sealed the low total of 136 all out.  Lusty blows from Dom Gaywood with a brisk 16 at the end improved the situation though!  The South had reason for concern as the chase started with an early loss but as wides became the top scorer, Souths score moved on without too much alarm and the ship was kept on course with a fine innings from Toby Codd of 44 not out.  The innings was also ably assisted with a hard hitting K Rich with 30 making up the bulk of the chase.  No East bowlers got to grips with the slope and only Jake Reddick threatened from the other end.  The game was wrapped up in the 26th over and South were deserved winners.
