Uncharted waters for Ivbybridge

IVYBRIDGE enter uncharted waters this season as they are in the B Division for the first time following promotion last term.

The Bridgers have been knocking on the door for a while and sooner of later were going to go up.

Having got the B Division the overwhelming aim is to stay there.

“It is hard to know how else to view it,” said skipper Gareth Andrews.

“We know very little about any of the clubs we are going to be playing, other than Stoke Gabriel who came up with us.

“With all last season’s squad still around and a couple of new faces, we should be able to stay up. If we finish in the top half I will be happy.”

Sri Lankan Jeewan deSilva is back for another season. He topped the C Division batting and bowling averages with 68.40 and 9.51 respectively last season.

Opening bowler Jamie Bullock hopes to get a full season in after patchy availability in recent summers.

Charlie Horwood, an opening bat who played occasionally last term, has pledged his availability for a full campaign.
