Foot boots Brixham out of Brockman

LUSTLEIGH got through to next Friday night’s Brockman Cup final at Torquay when they defeated Brixham by seven wickets at the second time of asking.

The first attempt at playing the semi-final was abandoned halfway through, but this time there were no interruptions for rain.

Brixham were limited to 76 for eight in their 20 overs – Paul Heath making a top score of 17 not out.

Lustleigh knocked the runs off in 14.2 overs with Paul Foot (23no) leading the way.

Brixham 76-8 (P Heath 17no, W Fowler 14; M Sessions 2-11, P Foot 2-11), Lustleigh 77-3 (P Foot 23no, J Wright 14). Lustleigh bt Brixham by 7 wkts.

PAIGNTON were already through to the final following a comfortable six-wicket win over Abbotskerswell.

Guy Harrison-Roberts top scored with 44 in Abbots’ 20-over total of 117 for five,

Dan Wolf (42) and Chris Slough (39) steered Paignton home with 3.2 overs to spare.

Babbacombe and Lustleigh are due to replay their rained off game at Torquay tomorrow (Friday) night.
