Brockman Cup - Brixham complete semi-final line up

BROCKMAN CUP QUARTER-FINALS

ALAN Boon hit an undefeated half-century to steer Ipplepen into the semi-finals of the Brockman Cup at the expense of Stoke Gabriel.

   Stoke appeared to be in the driving seat after making 130 for four – Ben Robinson following his ton in the previous round with 52 more and Jack Tolley hitting 37 not out.

   Tolley (2-8) and Steve Nand-lal (2-28) appeared to have the brake on the Pens until Boon wandered to the wicket.

   Fifty not out later, after a match-turning stand with Keith Bell, the Pens had won by five wickets.

   Paignton were waved through to the semi-finals by Torquay, who were unable to raise a team.

   The line-up for the semi finals is Ipplepen against Paignton at Torquay on Friday, June 18 and Barton v Brixham at the same venue on Monday, June 21.

   Barton defeated Abbotskerswell by 33 runs to book their place. Brixham saw off Cockington by 36 runs.

   Stoke Gabriel 130-4 (B Robinson 52, J Tolley 37no; A Boon 2-20), Ipplepen 131-5 (A Boon 50no,T Dyer 27,J Tolley 2-8,S Nand-Lal 2-28). Ipplepen by Stoke by 5 wkts.

   Brixham 99-8 (W Fowler 24; M Ellis 3-14, J Howrihane 3-20), Cockington Corinthians 63-8 (N Colegate 23, J Howrihane 19; T Robinson 3-14,L Upham 2-3,P Heath 2-9). Brixham bt Cockington by 36 runs.

   Barton 121 (D Palmer 25, L Adderley 20; C Kelmere 3-18,A Hearn 2-26), Abbotskerswell 88-7 (A Birt 24, Extras 23; A Hunt 3-8,T Porter 2-1). Barton bt Abbotskerswell by 33 runs.
