C Division 2nd XI - Bees stars with bat and ball
CORNWOOD continue to set the pace in the C Division following a six-wicket win over bottom side Shobrooke Park.

Jamie Horgan (3-22) and veteran Phil Bees (4-8) shot out Shobrooke for 80.

Richard Cavendish (40no) and Bees (20no) saw Cornwood through a scare caused by Dave Jolliffe (3-33).

Anthony Bevan was Clyst St George’s match winner in the three-wicket triumph over Honiton.

Bevan took five for 25 as Honiton were removed fdor 157, then made 77 not out on the chase.

Second-placed Clyst Hydon suffered a two-wicket defeat at against third in the table Thorverton.

Russ Corney made 70 in Hydon’s 178 for eight – Jock Spry taking four for 23.

John Farley (30) and Alan Tait (33) were helped by 45 extras as they knocked off the runs.

Plymouth CS&R are just four places off the promotion slots thanks to a two-wicket win over lowly Barnstaple.

Simon Light bagged five for 28 as B&P were held to 125 for nine.

J Russell (4-22) made life hard for Civil, but Dan Piddock (41) and brother Nigel (23) saw it through.
