THERE was disappointment in the C Division when the top-of-the-table clash between leaders Cornwood and second-placed Plymouth CS&R was called off.

However, there were no complaints from third-placed Thorverton, who moved 20 points closer by beating Clyst St George – and have a game in hand.

Matt Millward blasted 116 not out as Thors made 204 for four – then Neil Anning bagged four for 14 as St George were skittled for 83.

Yelverton travelled to Shobrooke Park and managed to dodge the showers to get a full game in.

This was only the sixth game that Yelverton 2nd's have managed to complete this season where the weather hasn't intervened.

The 19 points gained take Yelverton into 4th place in the C Division Table, 17 points outside the second promotion place with 4 games to go.

Yelverton restricted Shobrooke Park to 153-8 off their overs with Mike Chetwynd picking up four wickets and Tony Carter andd skipper Chris Pearson two each.

In reply it was a close game with the winning runs being struck from the last ball of the penultimate over with Yelverton reaching the required total for the loss of five wickets.

Paul Farnham (40no), Chris Cottrell (35) and Gerry Keen (25) were the main contributors in the Bohemians 153-5.

The game between Barnstaple & Pilton and Honiton was another weather casualty.
