Plymouth College v Devon Dumplings

WILL Chapman starred with bat and ball as Plymouth College defeated the Devon Dumplings by 22 runs at Mutley.

The College totalled 202 all out in 31 overs with Chapman, who is registered with Yelverton for league cricket, making a top score of 61.

Chapman and Matt Kidd (42) put on 68 in seven overs against some ragged Dumplings' bowling before Kidd was second out with the score on 83.

Alex Hill and Callum Cload went soon after in successive balls as the College faltered.

The rot stopped with Pavi Mawalage (33) and Chapman, whose stand gave the College bowlers something to defend.

The Dumplings lost opener Adam Fradgely in the first over, bowled by Chris Head, who followed up by removing Plymouth's Ben Ferraro.

A two-wicket burst by Chapman - which included College old boy Steve Luffman - and one for Mawalage had the Dumplings reeling.

The Dumplings got up to 180 before Chapman and Mawalage finished them off.
