E East

Seaton 2nds remain unbeaten after bagging an eighth win of the season with a two wicket triumph at Exeter Civil Service II.

The home side batted first and with Tim Courtenay top scoring with 46, were able to close on 127.

Seaton skipper Ian Hunt picked up 3-26 but the undoubted start of the bowling show was 14-year-old Tim Mitchell who claimed 4-18.

Toby Tucker then hit 38 and Chris Aplin chipped in with 30 as Seaton got home with just two wickets to spare.

R Ellis claimed 5-42 for the beaten hosts.

Kilmington II made a great fist of a big run chase at Halberton and Sampford Peverell where the home side closed on 213-9.

Maurice Bevis (2-26) and Jake Collier (2-29) produced the best bowling figures whilst Brian Chilcott top scored with 38 for the Mid Devon men.

Les Baker then hit 49 and Charlie Potter struck 41 as Kilmington closed on 197-9.

They were in danger of losing with Dave Lavender going out to fact the final delivery as the last man, but he stroked the ball through the covers to the boundary!

Thorverton III were 82 run winners at home to Kenn II.

Alan Birmingham (50), Christian Cabburn (28no) and Peter Keenan (27) led the Thors to 206-8.

Josh Richardson took 3-48 for Kenn who were then bowled out for 124 with only Mike Hastings (29) offering much resistance as Keenan (3-31), Cabburn (2-12) and Paul Jordan (2-20) claimed wickets.

The problem of player shortages struck in the E Division East with Axminster III unable to field an eleven for their game at Cullompton II.
