Honiton go on signing spree

Honiton Cricket Club have signed five players from near neighbors Feniton.

They welcome back former 1st XI captain Brian Cann and player Adrian Pullin (pictured).

Also on the way to Mountbatten Park are former Honiton colts Jake Smith and Ben Kidson, plus young spin bowler William Cowley.

Andrew Lapping, the Honiton chairman, said: It's no secret we struggled for players at times last year which ultimately led to both sides getting relegated.

“But what this shows is we are turning things around after an ordinary couple of years and are moving things forward.

"In Brian and Adrian we are getting two very experienced players who perform at a consistent level season after season

“Both will bring runs to the sides and wickets, along with a lot of know-how on how to win matches.

“Having coached Ben and Jake for a couple seasons, I am no stranger to what they bring to our club.

“Jake is a destructive batsmen, as we found out at their place last season!

“Ben is a very good all-rounder with plenty of potential and we have heard some positive things about William and his ability with the ball.

“These are exciting times for our club with new sponsors, which will be revealed soon.

"With plenty of exciting things in the pipline, these signings are hopefully the start of some good times to come.”
