Gary was a great guy and a good umpire, who was always welcome at Bovey Tracey C.C.

Will miss his friendship and company at the Test matches.

RIP to a dear friend

Nigel Mountford – chairman BTCC

GARY will be sadly missed by us all. His enthusiasm, understanding and straightforwardness both as an umpire and a colleague were remarkable and a good example to many.

Always willing to chat and advise, his support will be remembered for a very long time.

Rest in peace Gary - and if they play cricket in the heavens I'm sure they will welcome you with open arms

MIKE BLAKE

GARY was a genuine nice guy . He umpired our club on many occasions over the last five years.

He was always happy and interested to have a chat and catch up before and after games.

Always giving a balanced and honest answer to any discussions. I felt he was always in control on the field in a good way .

A very fair umpire who gave it as he saw it , but you could always share a joke with him on or off the field , which was very welcome .

As a club we enjoyed his company and always looked forward to him umpiring us .

I only met Gary around five years ago, but felt I had known him much longer.

Until now I was not aware of Gary's sporting background, in not only cricket, but rugby , football and no doubt many other sports .

Gary will be missed by many . It was a privilege to have known him and a huge loss to his family and everyone who knew him .
RIP Gary from your friends at Bradninch CC.
