Donohue doubtful for Devon Ladies' top-of-table clash

DEVON Ladies have a couple of selection issues ahead of their trip to Urmston CC on Sunday for an intriguing clash between the frontrunners in Division Two of the County Championship.

Devon currently lead the way marginally with both sides maintaining their unbeaten starts to the season.

The fixture is historically a competitive affair and there will be added tension as both sides look strong candidates for promotion to Division One.

Devon are awaiting an update on the injury to strike bowler Rebecca Donohue and have named an initial 13-player squad which will be reduced to 12 to travel to Manchester on Saturday afternoon.

Having managed to successfully bowl out Worcestershire at Sidmouth last time out the side have only dropped a point this season.

Three of the Devon players will travel on to Lord’s for the BUCS Women’s Final on Monday 23rd June representing Exeter in a repeat of last year’s final against Loughborough.

Squad: Amara Carr (Plympton & Exeter University) (w/k), Rebecca Donohue (Plympton). Jodie Dibble (Taunton Griffins), Rosalie Fairbairn (Bovey Tracey), Hazel Garton (Plympton, Royal Navy & Combined Services), Phoebe Graham (Exeter University), Lydia Harris (Ipplepen), Jessie Jones (Plympton), Ali Kelly (North Devon), Hannah Linton (Canterbury Magicians), Lottie Miles (Sandford & Exeter University), Cait O’Keefe (Plympton), Claire Varcoe (Plymouth).
