League XI named to face Cornwall

JOEL Murphy will captain a Devon League XI in the annual challenge match against Cornwall, which is taking place at Cornwood (2pm) on Sunday.

Devon won the corresponding game last year, chasing 208 to win at Torquay and getting them with three wickets in hand.

The League XI management have gone for a different look to the side this season, steering almost clear of Premier Division players to give others the chance to shine.

“The team is largely drawn from A and B Division players who seldom get the opportunity to play representative cricket,” said league chairman and team manager Stuart Munday.

Cornwall: Will Cooke, Charlie Ellis, Phil Lill (all Wadebridge CC), Josh Fletcher, Jonny Ludlam (both Penzance CC), Ben Hawken (St Minver CC), Dan Jenkin, Ben Rule (both Helston CC)‎, Luke Johnson (Troon CC), Steve Richards (Hayle CC), Jordan Thomas (Beacon CC).
