Taunton Cricket Festival at Kings College



Devon Under 10's win Under 10 Taunton Cricket festival for the first time. The successful 13 man squad had fantastic wins over Cambridgeshire, Sussex and Middlesex to win the festival by 17 points.
 
 













Cambridgeshire on 19th July

Cambridgeshire 113ao
 ( Chris Yabsley 17-3, Kazi Szymanski 10-2,Monty Crowe 14-2)
Devon 114 for 4 ( Sam Maunder 51*, Tom Lammonby 17,)

Devon won by 6 wkts

Day 1: It all started with a 6  wicket win over Cambridgeshire where captain Sam Maunder lead his side to victory with a superb 51 not out including 8 fours.  Keeping Cambridgeshire to such a low total was a result of some great bowling and fielding.Off spinner Chris Yabsley 17-3 bowled really well in the middle of the innings, however he was well supported by the opening bowlers Kazi Szymanski and Monty Crowe.
  
 
Sussex on 20th July  

Sussex 136 for 9
 (Jack Moore 21-2, Tom Lammonby 25-2, Chris Yabsley 28-2)
Devon 138 for 3 (Sam Maunder 40, Tom Williams 27, Ben Crocker 21)
 
Devon won by 7 wickets  

Day 2: On a damp morning at Kings, Devon won the toss a again elected to field. Thing were steady for both teams in the first 10 overs as Sussex where 31-0, however then the captain introduced Exeter's Tom Lammonby 2 for 25 and the 8 year old Barnstaple star Jack Moore  2 for 21, who got into the Sussex batting line up, which slowed the run rate and restricted them to 136 for 9 off their 45 overs. Again Sam Maunder Lead the way with a quick fire 40, putting on 70 for the second wicket with Tom Williams of Sandford.  However when both where dismissed within an over Sussex were right back in the game.  It took calm heads from Ben Crocker 21 and Tom Lammonby 19 to see Devon to their second victory in two days and go top of the group. 

 
Middlesex on 21st July 
Middlesex 99 all out (Kazi Szymanski 19-3 including a hatrick, Tom Lammonby 25-3, Jack Moore 4-2) 
Devon 100 for 6 (Tom Williams 30, Tom Lammonby 32)
 
Devon won by 4 wickets 

Day 3: Sitting top of the group Devon where in the driving seat in the first place battle with the 2 First Class Counties. Middlesex won the toss and at 51-1 looked like a good decision, until they were all out for 99. This was again a result of some exceptional fast bowling by Torquay's Kazi Szymanski who took 3 wickets in 3 balls, which turned the game totally.  Kazi was backed up again by Tom Lammonby who took another 3 wickets all bowled and young Jack Moore 2 for 4.  the fielding was also of a high standard, lead by a superb catch by James Casey.  
   
 
Final Table:

Devon = 49pts 
Sussex = 28pts
Middlesex = 22pts
Cambridgeshire = 22pts
